Chapter-12 What am I doing today?
Sebastian's Pov
She left.
Her long brown hairs waving like long waves of oceans, and I couldn't help but look at them mesmerized. I was mesmerized by her out-of-the-world beauty.
What is this? Do I have a fetish for long hair? Because I can't seem to take my eyes off her hair. But then again, her body figure was no less appealing. If I didn't know any better, I would've thought that she was a witch who was out there to tempt people with her charms.
Was she a witch? A witch who was living under the disguise of a lantern? But if she was, then why the heck will she come here to live out of all the places? She was not a witch, that’s for sure. But how can she be this beautiful and appealing? That to be without her wolf?
I have seen my share of beautiful women, and there was no doubt in that, but the thing that was confusing me right now was the fact that I was feeling enchanted by her.
If I hadn’t found my mate, then I would’ve thought that she is my mate. But now that I know that my mate was dead, this kind of attraction towards another she-wolf was lethal to me. And that is when I know her mate should be somewhere waiting for her. The pure faint scent on her body was a clear indication that she hasn’t mated to anyone, which means she is yet to find her mate.
What kind of problem have I gotten myself into. I thought before groaning out aloud.
"Alpha? Alpha?" I heard voices from around me, making me look at them with quirked brows.
"We have been calling you for so long. You were not listening. Don't tell me you plan on taking my name as yours forever. It’s not the case, right?" Blake asked, making me look at him with a blank look.
Honestly, even I don't know why I made up this name. It was like an impulse.
An impulse that I could not control and that wants to find more about this girl.
Apart from this weird attraction towards her, there was something else that was quite unnerving.
If she is a lantern-like she had said, then her scent would've already been very faint in comparison to other wolves.
What does she need a pendant for?
I know that the council had been helping lanterns these past years because their occurrence was really rare, and they were afraid that they will be bullied.
But why would they go to the extent to give a lantern a pendant to hide its scent? Does that mean that Mark guy knew that this lantern is living among humans under the disguise of being a human herself?
And if yes, then who was that guy who gave us the tip about her?
If the council was helping her, then why would they want to expose her cover at the same time?
Many questions were surfacing my head, and the only way to know about the truth is either this lantern or Mark.
"Mr. Sebastian? Why did you stop suddenly? The biotechnology department is this way. Let me introduce you to our students. Their class must be starting soon." The chancellor that I had completely forgotten, gushed, making me look at him briefly.
If he introduces us in front of everyone, then he'll use my real name, and even if he doesn't use my real name, he will at least tell them that I am the founder of the university, which means my cover will be exposed today itself.
Who doesn't know that the founder of the university is called Sebastian? And the lantern will surely get alerted when she will know about my real identity.
If I want to know the truth about her, then I need to make her believe that I am not an Alpha and I won't hurt her.
I can't let my cover be blown just like that.
"Don't," I commanded, making the chancellor stop in his tracks before he looked at me with a questioning gaze.
"Don't introduce us. I don't want the students to feel alerted because of us. Just tell them that we are from the side of founders." I commanded, and though it was clear that he didn't understand my explanation, he complied with my command nonetheless.
Entering the class, my eyes searched for the lantern that has me questioning my sanity in the last few minutes. It wasn't long before I spotted her sitting at the furthest corner of the room with a guy who seemed like was talking to her about something.
Her focus was on that boy right now, and I don't think she realized that we were here.
As the chancellor started his introduction, I looked at her eyes shifting from that boy to me before they became wide.
Her widened eyes with the agape mouth were so cute that I couldn't help but smile inwardly. I don't know why but the panic in her eyes was kind of unsettling me in a good way, and I felt like I needed to enjoy more of that.
The way she squinted her brows as if thinking hard while her gaze focussed on us was so cute that for a moment I wanted to go there and pull her cheeks or maybe grip her neck to make her more panic?
I was enjoying the fear and panic in her eyes when I saw her gaze shifting from me to back to that boy who had placed his hand on top of hers, making her smile before she nodded her head at him.
She was smiling at him reassuringly. Don't tell me that this lantern is not only breaking laws by studying in a human school but is also dating a human.
Dating a human? Was he her mate?
Was that the reason why she was living among humans without a care in the world? But if that was true, then why would she panic seeing me? There were no rules about not dating a human if he/she is a mate of the werewolf.
But then again, her scent was still so pure, which indicates that she has not become intimate with anyone.
And if he was not her mate, then why were they being so intimate?
This girl was full of unpredictable questions, and she was already giving me a headache even when we have met for a few minutes only.
Looks like, I need to settle here for some time.
"Alpha, the chancellor had been looking at you for some time now. He wants you to speak on the podium." I heard my beta's voice through the mind link, making me look at him with a nod.
Improving my expression, I looked at the chancellor, nodding at him in agreement.
Going near the podium, I took the mic in my hand, my gaze focused on the girl I was aiming for before I started speaking.
"Hello, students. I am Blake, the right hand of the founder of the university and also a co-founder. I know our visit today was a surprise for all of you, and not all of you were exactly happy with it because the chancellor had threatened you with points demerit if you don't attend, right?" I asked, making the chancellor, who was standing beside me cough loudly and that lantern, hid her face behind her notebook as if knowing I was aiming at her.
"Well, I am sorry for that. I will surely scold the chancellor for putting on such a strict rule. However, studies are as important for you as other things, no?
The biotechnology department has always been one of my favorite departments.
To help you guys with your studies and check that you guys are studying properly, I'll be taking your lectures from time to time, and I want the same strength of people as today in all my lectures. Is that clear?" I asked.
'Alpha, what are you doing?'
‘Alpha, please think before you speak.’
‘Alpha, let’s discuss this first before we make any decisions.’
'Alpha, what about the meeting with the-'
My mind link was filled with my friend's questions, and I couldn't help but curse inwardly when I realized what the hell I did.
What the hell is wrong with me today!
There were so many ways to find out the truth. Why did I say that I'll become their teacher!! Fuck me! I shouted in my mind before looking at the girl, who was the reason for all these insane decisions I was taking today, and had a panicked and shocked expression on her face.
'You are looking for trouble, I can see that.' My wolf howled in laughter, and I couldn't help but agree with him at this thing.
What was I doing today?
Looking at the wide smile on the chancellor’s face, I couldn’t help but look at him with a weird contorted face of mine.
Let’s see what the future holds for me.
‘Your future is looking a bit adventurous to me, nonetheless.’ My wolf howled, making me more annoyed than I already was.
