Ch. 30：I want a boyfriend now

ALEXIS'S POV
'Well, he is making use of the werewolf hearing and must have heard Matt approaching, which I must mention should have been your call. Where is your mind? You know how important it is for you to stay aware of your surroundings, don’t you?’ Ariana said, and I know she was trying to make me feel guilty, but I wasn’t the only one at fault.
‘As a matter of fact, shouldn’t it be you who should have told me about Matt approaching? You call yourself my wolf all the time, don’t you? Where was your werewolf hearing at the time when I was distracted? I am a lantern, and I live on nomadic skills that I acquired while living alone, but what about you?’ I rolled my eyes before looking at Matt, who was still waiting for my answer.
“Umm… sure, why not? I can give you a ride on my way back home. I need to go and buy some groceries myself.” I said to Matt.
“Great! I will be waiting for you near your car then,” Matt said before exiting the class, not before passing me that suspicious look. The look that said, what is going on here.
“Well, if that was all that you wanted to ask then, I’ll take my leave,” I said before picking up my bag shyly, not looking into his eyes, afraid that he will know what was going through my head through my gaze.
“Yeah, you can. By the way, can you share your number with me? In case, I need to call you when I need something urgently. You are my TA, after all.” Blake said, making me nod before I punched in my number in his phone. I deliberately gave him my private number that no one knows about as I wanted to keep any conversation with him a secret. I can't risk our secret getting out because I know, if something like that happens, then the blame will be on me only. Because we all know, I am the lantern living with the humans and breaking laws. And the little chance of me having some peace in my life, will be taken away from me.
Leaving the class, I looked for Matt, smiling slightly when I noticed that Audrey and Shane were also joining us.
“The girl is finally free. Tell me, Alexis. What does Professor Blake need you for?” Matt asked, his usual smirk on his face.
“What do you mean by that? She is his TA. Of course, she will be needed by him for some assignments, or paperwork, or test papers.” Audrey answered for me, and I looked at her thankfully.
“Well, I know that. But I am sure he needed her for a different reason today.” Matt said, stopping me in my tracks as I was about to unlock my car, making me turn to look at him, slightly panicked.
What did he mean by a different reason? Was he listening to our conversation? Or did he peeped from the back door while I and Blake were talking? Did he saw our proximity and how close I and Blake were standing? Does he suspect something between me and Blake? Numerous thoughts started to make theirs way in my mind as I waited for him to say something. Something that could give me a hint of what was going through his head.
“Haha… look at her face. I knew I was right. I know you were being scolded today. You know, she slept in this new professor’s class, and he had allowed her to sleep, but after some time she started whining like a cat, and he had to wake her up because she was so loud and was disturbing the class.” Matt said, and both Audrey and Shane started chuckling at that.
I, on the other hand, heaved a sigh of relief. Well, at least it's not what I was thinking.
“He wasn’t scolding me as a matter of fact. He was just asking me why I was sleeping in the class, which I obviously answered with ‘because I was sleepy’, and he just warned me to not repeat that.” I said as the four of us sat in my car.
I looked at Blake, who was entering his truck, from out of the corner of my eyes, and I couldn't help but find his truck as sexy as him.
Sexy. This word again. I was finding things around me quite alluring recently. Especially men, which was not a good sign.
For example, I kept thinking about the hulk that was probably laying on my couch back at home and watching TV. Yeah, I am talking about Eric. After that, I had a semi-desiring dream about Blake, which I must mention has never happened before.
I don’t know why all of this was happening, and my lose emotions were quite scaring me. I read books and rated books too, and I do have fantasies regarding things, but things like this have never happened before. Things like me getting wet because of a dream out of nowhere.
Is it because I have never been close to people to whom I feel sexually attracted? I mean, I did have a similar problem when I was with Mark for a couple of days. At that time also, I had practically sent him away in the name of girl and boy living together being inappropriate when I was thinking of having my way with him every night we were watching a movie together.
Yes, that might be the reason.
And I think distancing myself from these guys was a perfect solution to this problem like I had done with Mark. Luckily there will be a thirty days winter break after the semester exams, and that would just be the perfect time for me to enjoy my distancing with these guys, and also find myself a human guy with whom I can get laid easily without increasing my complications with this werewolf species.
Yup, you guys heard that right. I will now be on a mission to find myself a boyfriend.
“Alexis? Are you even listening? Audrey asked you what do you think about this guy called Cole? She heard her classmates talking about you and him. Something about him proposing you soon.” Shane said, and I smirked at him in reply.
“Well, I think it’s time for me to find myself a boyfriend, I guess,” I said, making them chuckle as they must’ve remembered what happened to the last guy who had proposed to me in front of everyone.
What can I say? I was no saint Mary here.
