Chapter- Won't let him walk over me
ALEXIS'S POV
"Well, Mr. Blake, how can I help you?" I asked, still smiling, remembering the chancellor's contorted look.
"You are having too much fun in this human university, don’t you?" He asked with amusement-filled eyes, making me tilt my head and look up to him.
Was that a compliment or a sarcastic comment?
"Well, they treat me better than how my species did, and I don’t see why I should not enjoy the courtesy and love that I get here, which I must mention that my species should’ve given me. So, yes. I am having fun in this Humans university, and I think I should be thankful to your Alpha for sponsoring an all Humans University or I wouldn't have stumbled upon it when I was homeless and hopeless." I remarked back, not knowing where the confidence was coming from.
And, I don’t know if I was being delusional again, but I think I saw a flicker of emotions in his eyes.
"Well, we are glad that we could be at your service, Miss Alexis." He said, rolling his eyes before continuing.
"I have called you out to tell you that you are not allowed to leave this place until you are permitted by our Alpha. We are not clear on your current situation, and thus, we are not deciding anything at the moment. We would like to study your case before we decide whether to punish you severely or leave you after a small punishment.” He said, pausing in between before he bent a little closer to me, making my breath hitch, not because I was afraid of him but because his cologne and scent were a little bit too sexy and alluring for me. Not to forget his handsome and chiseled face, which was a little bit too close to mine for my own liking.
“If you don't follow my words, then I'll make sure to hunt down your little ass down, and you won't like to know the end of it," Blake said, and this time, I felt chills running down my spine at his warning. I looked at him, gulping on my saliva nervously before nodding my head.
I got your word man, I told him by my gesture, hoping he would get it because my dumb brain was too shocked to signal my mouth to utter a word.
Stupid brain, get out of the gutter and focus on the warning that he shot towards us. I reprimanded myself before scowling hard, my eyes finding their way back to his eyes with a challenging look.
I mean, what's wrong with this guy? He could've just said that I am not allowed to go anywhere until the investigation is done. There was no need to be so rude about it. What’s with hunt me down? And did he just say my little ass?
How dare he say a word to me like that when we have just met?
The nerve of this guy!!
'Well, I wonder if you wouldn’t have been the same if you were dealing with a lantern, who was breaking rules by living with the humans without a human being her mate. Doing something that was not at all aloud in our world.' Ariana said, making me look at her wide-eyed.
This was probably the first time she had agreed with the fact that I was a lantern.
As if realizing her mistake, she started correcting herself, however, her words were cut off by Blake, who after staring at me for God knows how long, smiled and said,
"Besides, with me being your teacher from now on, I don't think you'll be having as much fun as you are having right now. Because, Miss Alexis, you'll be under my constant observation." He said, leaning more closer to me if possible, making me look at him, involuntarily.
Does he really think that he will be able to stop me from living my life? He doesn’t know who I am. I am Alexis Clark, the ruler of my own life and the infamous lantern rogue that everyone has been finding for so long, not to mention a rogue that is backed by the council itself.
"My life already got fucked up the moment I met you. Now, I'll just have to wait and see how much more fucked up can it get." I commented, smirking at him before I turned around and left.
I know talking back to a guy who will probably decide whether I get to live or not was a bad decision, but I have already had enough with people walking all over me when I was a member of that lousy pack. Now I was a free soul, who have developed this bad habit since I left my earlier pack, and that was, I don't take shit from anyone.
I indeed felt a little bit intimidated earlier, but knowing that these might be the last moments I get to live since my life and future had always been unpredictable like this, I don't want to live like a pussy and follow a guy's useless talks.
Entering the class, my eyes making contact with Chancellor, who was going out of the class at the same time, I smiled at everyone, making everyone holler with laughter.
Well, my attitude was what everyone loved and envy. And I am not going to change it even if it means it will get me in trouble. It took me four fucking years to develop this attitude, and I won’t let a random beta walk over me and tell me that I can’t live and enjoy my life among humans, who happened to be the only species that had accepted me the way I was.
