Ch. 13:Making fun of the chancellor
Chapter-11 Having fun with the chancellor.
ALEXIS'S POV
Have you ever felt like life had pulled you into a situation where you have only two options to choose from, and one option from that is to jump in an endless well, and the other option is to jump down a cliff? Yeah? You have? Then, my dear, you and I are on the same boat.
Well, that's exactly how I am feeling right now.
Now I don't have anywhere to go.
If I go into hiding again, then it would mean another few months of hiding here and there and then finding a suitable place to live peacefully again. It wasn't as bad as it looked. However, the fact that the alpha will hunt me down was an added consequence to it.
And, if decide to stay here, then I'll be at the mercy of the strongest Alpha here, and I don't think it will be long before they'll exile me or try something like that. Moreover, I don't want to leave this place after the bond I had made with people here, not to forget my one year of graduation.
My brain was in the haywire of emotions while my conscious self was in the tough battle to see if what I heard just now was right or not?
Did he say what I think he said just now?
This Blake guy was randomly going to take our lessons from now on?
The little hope that I had left inside of me that maybe they would spar me was gone now. They haven't done anything like this teaching or engaging and interacting with humans so far and were trying such a trick just after they found me in the college meant only one thing.
They were doing all of this because of a purpose.
And that purpose was none other than me, Alexis Clark.
Smiling at the guy stiffly, whose eyes had been focused on me from the moment he entered, I looked back at Matt, who was going on and on about some kind of party.
"So are you coming?" He asked me, and me being the blockhead who was busy in her dreamland, looked at him as if I was seeing an Alien.
"You were not listening, were you?" He asked me before rolling his eyes.
Glad that he knows me that much. I thought before nodding my head.
"What am I going to do with you seriously? If boys who run after you come to know how you really are, I bet they’ll be as mad for you as they are. Let me make it short. There's a bonfire party tonight just to enjoy ourselves before the semester exams. Almost everyone is coming, and I think you should come too. Let's go there together." He said, and this time I caught on to the topic.
Party? Should I really go to this party? I don't think my current situation was party-worthy, but then again, things hadn't been easy for me since I came to know that I was a lantern, were they? And who knows if I’ll get to live the next day. Why not enjoy this time while I still can?
"I think, I'll join this time." I smiled at him politely before going back to doodling on my notebook.
"Hey, you are coming for real? As far as I know. You don’t really join such crowded parties." The guy sitting in front of me asked, making me smile at him briefly before I nodded.
“Woah, that’s so cool. Let me inform others that you are also coming. I bet I’ll be able to earn some good money with this information.” He said, making me nod my head at him with a confused face.
He did just not say that, did he?
He can earn money just by spreading the news that I was coming to the party?
“Share 60% with me since it’s about me we are talking about,” I told the guy, who looked at me with widened eyes before nodding his head enthusiastically.
Well, at least someone looks a bit happy with my arrival.
“What are you doing?” Matt asked me, looking at me stunned as if he didn’t expect it from me.
“What do you mean by what am I doing? He is earning money just by talking about me. I should get some part of it too. It’s easy money, and I need a lot of it.” I told Matt, who just shook his head at me with a smile on his face.
Well, I still don’t see if there was something wrong with it. I shrugged before going back to doodling.
"Okay, so this is all for me. I am not sure when I will start with the teaching thing, but I'll come on the random visits more often from now on. I hope to get a good grade from you guys.
Since I am busy with my work, I will be needing a student assistant to help me handle the paperwork here.
I will have the chancellor give you the forms. I must add, my assistant will get extra points for doing that extra work." Blake said, I don't know if it was just me or something, but I heard some cockiness in his voice, and I couldn't help but roll my eyes at him.
Assistant my ass, I won't become your student if I am given a choice, even when you offer me 100 credit points. I thought, making my consciousness laugh at me.
'I am serious. I won't do that even for those points.' I shouted at her, just to make my point, and this made her laugh even harder, which annoyed me more.
"Okay, class. Let's thank the founders for taking out the time from their busy schedule and honoring us with coming here." The chancellor said, and if looks could kill, then he would've already been six feet under that podium.
Isn't he the reason for my sufferings?
I was busy in my Lala land, killing the chancellor with wicked ways in my mind when I felt a tap on my desk, making me look up from my notebook. Now, who the hell is disturbing me?
The person standing there, stunning me as I looked into his dark grey stormy eyes.
"How can I help you?" I asked, sighing, confident that he won't do anything to me with all these humans around.
"Can I have a moment with you, miss Alexis? I heard that you are the most sincere child of this class." He said, making me widen my eyes.
"Seriously? Since when?" I asked the chancellor without hesitating, making everyone laugh in the class as they were the witness to my wrongdoings and the number of times I had been scolded by him in front of everyone on the same podium where he was giving a speech just now.
"Of course, you are, Alexis," Chancellor said with a stiff and awkward smile, making me look at him with a quirked brow.
Well, this was not what he said last month when he was scolding me about my report.
"Your statement is recorded, Mr. Chancellor. I'll hold you accountable for it next time you say anything otherwise. The students in this class, my dear colleagues, are witnesses to that. Aren't you guys?" I shouted, making everyone shout back a yes.
I looked at the chancellor with a smirk, glad that I was able to put him in a tough spot just like how he did to me. First with that 100 demerit points warning, all those scoldings, and now, putting me in a spotlight in front of everyone.
My smirk, making everyone chuckle at Chancellor's contorted face.
"Alexis, dear, what are you talking about? Let's talk with the founder first, yeah? We'll talk about this matter later." Chancellor said, making me nod.
"Sure, why would I have a problem with that? After all, I am one of the most sincere students here." I said, and from the contorted look on his face, I know what he was thinking.
Well, he can't exactly give me demerit points just because I was talking like that, so why not have a little bit of fun?
Winking at the chancellor, I followed Blake out of the class, leaving a laughing class and a seething Chancellor behind.
